New Steet Fighter IV Footage

The guys at, one of my favorite gaming sites, have new footage of Balrog and Blanka going at it in the almost 3rd Dimension. Just like any other Street Fighter fanatic, I was skeptical at first, however, watching the development timeline and new footage of this game is very reassuring. Capcom obviously put great effort into maintining the traditional feel of SF II in this 2.5d remake, and from what I see, you don’t have to worry about it feeling like Soul Caliber or Tekken.

A while back I saw IGN interview on with Yoshinori Ono, the producer of SF IV. He explained that this was the only way for them to take Street Fighter to the next level, which makes sense. How ridiculous would it of been for them to call it Street Fighter IV and just slap in a bunch of new characters and backgrounds along with filler storylines. I get a genuine feeling, that the developers are on the same page as the fans with this one, that always makes for a happy comprimise. In fact, if you head on over to they have an interesting timeline of Street Fighter’s history, there are sure to be some titles that you forgot about.

To me, there’s nothing more hip-hop than Street Fighter. SF IV drops first quarter next year, so catch me online and get the smackdown.
